Combo Council

Outreach continues to be central to CFGC’s mission to provide the best fighting game experience for players, collegiate staff, and fans alike. To expand those efforts, CFGC has introduced the Combo Council for the upcoming Spring ‘25 season.

The Combo Council will act as CFGC’s version of the competitive committee seen in various other college conferences, such as NECC. What makes the Combo Council different, though, is their passion for the FGC and translating that experience to collegiate competition.

The nine inaugural members have experiences that touch every corner of both collegiate esports and the fighting game community. From the NECC’s Competition Committee Chair Elect to a tournament organizer for the Capcom World Tour, there’s no shortage of experience among the Combo Council members.

With their various backgrounds, all nine members have unique perspectives and ideas to bring to the table to help improve the CFGC. They bring initiatives such as improving match graphics, connecting more with the scholastic community, and creating in-person CFGC events. They also bring connections with talented professionals from a wide variety of industries to help CFGC tackle a wide variety of ambitious goals like the ones listed above.

For Jason Clark, CEO of CFGC, the Combo Council is all about enhancing CFGC’s already incredible community.

This committee aims to bring together Head Coaches, Program Directors, and FGC Club Presidents, anyone that has direct oversight and leadership to their school's CFGC competitors (required), to collaborate on enhancing the competitive experience within the conference. Members will share their insights and expertise to help improve player experience and ensure a high-quality competitive environment for all participants. The committee will serve as a bridge between leadership and participants, ensuring a balanced and dynamic approach to conference activities.

The Combo Council is just one way that CGFC is connecting with the community. While the Combo Council focuses on connecting with players and school leaders, CFGC ambassadors connect with the greater FGC community. Currently CFGC has one ambassador, Saint Cola, who’s already helped CFGC collaborate with FGC organizations such as Tampa Never Sleeps.

If you have any ideas for our new Combo Council or want to provide them with any feedback, their information will be below. CFGC is getting even better, and we hope you’re ready for the upcoming spring season.
